People often don’t give a thought to a lot of their daily hygiene items. A lot of people just walk down the aisle at the grocery store or pharmacy and then they look out and pick one up. This can work out sometimes, but other times you’re just wasting your money. Some of the most popular brands for both men and women are out there waiting to be used. There are many reasons to buy a shampoo. Some work to moisturize dry hair. Some help thinning hair retain its strength. Anti dandruff shampoos are common so people don’t need to deal with “embarrassing flakes”. Some shampoos just smell nice and do a good job of cleaning your hair. No matter which shampoo you choose, make sure it’s capable of the things you require. These shampoos are all incredibly popular and used around the world. The list shows off the most popular shampoo for women as well as for men.

1 - Dove

Dove is one of the strongest and most well known brands in the world. While Dove seemed to initially be targeted at women, their Men+Care brand has been a smashing success. Dove is one of the best shampoos when it comes to moisturizing. This matches their other hygiene products like their soaps and body washes.

2 - Herbal Essences

Herbal essences built up it’s brand through some extensive marketing in the 1990’s and 2000’s. Typically intended for women, herbal essences is almost entirely focused on the scent within the shampoo. It cleans and does what you would expect from a shampoo as well, buit the scent is the money maker. This is fairly similar to some other brands like Axe or Old Spice.

3 - TRESemmé

TRESemmé is a shampoo intending to offer up salon quality products at more moderate prices for everyday use. They have a wide variety of difference shampoos including their Expert Selection Ionic Strength shampoo, Beauty-Full Volume shampoo and their Botanique Detox and Restore shampoo. All of these focus on different aspects of helping hair become healthier.

4 - Old Spice

Old spice may be the biggest overall brand for men’s shampoo on the planet. They started in aftershave and other products, but made the natural leap to shampoo. Like their big competitor Axe, they advertise a lot and focus on the scents in their products. However, many of them are targeted at “manly” men with smells like “Bearglove”. Though what a Bear wearing gloves might actually smell like is almost assuredly not the pleasing scent old spice has produced.

5 - Axe

What started as an annoying body spray for frat guys has turned into a hygiene empire. Axe products are used by millions of men around the world. They do an excellent job of cleansing, but that isn’t their main selling point. The best part about Axe is the scents. Typically there’s a scent for any man. In addition, their whole range of products come in the specific scents, so there’s no muddling of scents between them.

6 - Head and Shoulders

When it comes to anti-dandruff shampoos, Head and Shoulders is one of the most well known and popular brands. This shampoo is a top brand for both men and women. Head and Shoulders market directly to people by finding a singular famous spokesperson with outrageous hair and cleverly creating advertisements.
